Digital Arrest Alert (Android) · Effective 28 September 2026

Digital Arrest Alert is an app for people who might receive a "digital arrest" scam call. When a number that is not in your contacts keeps you on a long call, it shows you a warning card, can ring the family member you chose, and gets a message ready for your family that you send with one tap. This policy explains exactly what the app touches and what leaves your phone.

The short version: no account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Everything the app keeps stays on your phone. Things leave your phone only when they go to the family you chose — a phone call, a message you send, or a screen picture you choose to send.

Independent app. Digital Arrest Alert is not made by, endorsed by or linked to any government, police force, bank or the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C). The helpline numbers and websites it shows (for example 1930 and cybercrime.gov.in in India) are official public services of your country.

Who is responsible

The app is published by Krunal Shukla, an individual developer. Contact: digitalarrestalert@gmail.com.

What the app accesses, and why

AccessWhyWhere it goes
Notification access (call notifications only)To notice that a call in the phone app, WhatsApp or another calling app is running, when it started, and the name or number shown on it. This is the only way an app can know a call is happening in another app.Processed on the phone. Notifications that are not calls are ignored and never stored. See "stored on your phone" for the short call list.
Contacts (read only)To check whether the number on a call is saved in your contacts, and to let you pick family members from your contact list.Looked up on the phone only. Never uploaded or copied.
Phone calls (make calls)To ring the family member you chose, on speaker, when a stranger keeps you on a call too long, or when you press the help button.A normal call from your phone. Normal call charges may apply.
Phone calls (end calls)So the "End this call" button on the card can hang up a normal phone call. If a normal phone call with an unknown number goes past the time limit and nobody taps "It's fine", the app can also end it by itself; you can switch this off in Settings. It never answers, reads or records calls. On the phone only.
Display over other apps, notifications, full-screen alertsTo show the warning card over the call screen. On the phone only.
Screen picture (screen capture)Only when you tap "Send my screen" and then say yes to Android's own "Start sharing?" question: one picture of the screen, so your family can see who is calling you.Saved in the app's private cache and opened in WhatsApp (or the share list) for you to send. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send. Older pictures are deleted when a new one is taken.
Audio settingsTo switch the speaker on when the app rings your family. On the phone only.
Run at start-up, battery settings, foreground serviceSo the guard keeps working after a restart and is not stopped by battery saving. On the phone only.
Internet and network stateGoogle Play purchases, and checking whether the phone is online before read-aloud offers natural online voices. The app itself sends none of your information to any server.See "Information that leaves your phone".

The app does not have permission to send SMS by itself. When your family should be told, the message opens ready to send in your messaging app or WhatsApp, and you tap Send.

Information stored on your phone

Your name, your mobile number, up to three family numbers with names and how each is told (text, WhatsApp or both), numbers you mark as trusted, your bank's phone number (optional), your country and language, the alert settings, a list of the calls the guard watched in the last 14 days (time, length, calling app, the name or number shown, and whether it was saved; at most 80 calls), anything you type into the evidence notes, and whether you have bought the app. All of it is kept in the app's private storage, excluded from Android backups, and deleted when you uninstall the app. You can clear the evidence notes in the app at any time.

Information that leaves your phone

The app has no account, no server of its own, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. The developer receives none of your information.

Payment

After a 7-day free trial the app offers a one-time purchase through Google Play. Google processes the payment and holds your payment details; the app only receives Google Play's answer about whether the purchase exists and stores it on your phone. The developer never sees your card, UPI or bank details. Codes for the 3-phone licence are checked on the phone, without any server.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

Every permission can be refused or withdrawn in Android settings; the app keeps working with reduced protection and says so on its home screen. You can edit or delete family numbers, trusted numbers and evidence notes at any time. Uninstalling removes all data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address with a new effective date. A feature that would send information over the internet is never switched on without this policy being updated first.
